Description:

This Heliconia species is a herbaceous perennial native to northwestern South America. It is now cosmopolitan across the tropics/subtropics. This particular emblematic Heliconia has pendulous flowers that face down. The flowers are a source of nectar for birds.

Habitat:

Along "Heliconia walk" in the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
