Stephanoxis lalandi
It measures about 8.5 cm. in length. The adult male has a green crown, a broad blue band that starts from the throat and extends to the belly, a gray face and a mantle with golden tones. The external lines have white tips, but smaller than in its congener Blue-topped Hummingbird (Stephanox loddigesii). Females of this subspecies have gray throat, chest and belly, green crown and mantle. The two central lines of the female of this subspecies are completely green. The external guidelines have three distinct colors: green, black and white at the ends. Young males and females are green on the back and light gray on the belly, with a white spot behind the eyes; the beak is short and straight.
