Description:

Having walked all along the river to find one, we got back to the hotel to find another one waiting for us!

Habitat:

Open ground overlooking lake.

Notes:

These birds were seen in 2002, nomenclature is as per Grimmett/Inskipp 1999 valid at that time. There is a large area known as Baga fields alongside the Baga river which has numerous salt pans and is (was) a paradise for all kinds of birds. Some parts have since been reclaimed for developement.

The beak makes it look almost top heavy! Such variety is amazing.
