Spotting

Description:

Some kind of fern that grows out of a tree. I can tell it is seperate from the tree because some similar trees don't have the fern, and the fern looks different from the leaves of the tree. It has gold orange spore clusters on the leaves, but only on the underside. It is hard to see, but in the last picture, there is a red area where the fern connects to the tree. The fern grows on the lower part of the tree while the leaves grow from the top. It seems to be a commensalistic or mutualistic relationship.

Habitat:

Near pro shop in golf course. The fern exists on approximately 4 out of 5 of the same tree in the area.
