Red-Crested Cardinal

Paroaria coronata

Description:

Small birds that stick together. Red head feathers. Gray feathers on back, wings, and tail. White chest that extends up to create a small white collar around its neck. Some of them looked different. Some were brightly colored, perhaps the males, and some were dirty and brown colored in comparison, maybe the females. However there was one bird featured in pics 2&3 that was completely red all over. It was the only red one in the group.

Habitat:

By pro shop on a golf course. Mostly open space but a decent amount of trees.

Notes:

When frightened they fly off into a tree.
