White-crowned Sparrow

Zonotrichia leucophrys nuttalli

Description:

Medium sized sparrow with black and white stripes on head, greyish face and breast and brown streaks on back and wings. Diet is mainly seeds but can be found feeding on insects. Found flying in flocks foraging.

Habitat:

Found in brush, open fields marsh tall grass and backyard feeders.

Notes:

Spotted taking bath in a puddle.
