Hairy helmet crab carapace

Telmessus cheiragonus

Description:

The carapace is covered with small orange bumps and the margin is lined with jagged teeth. About 5 cm wide, can reach 10 cm.

Habitat:

Spotted washed ashore in Padilla Bay. This crab lives along western coast of North America from the Bering Sea to Monterey, California. Also found in coastal areas of Siberia, Japan and Korea.
