Sericornis frontalis
The White-browed Scrubwren (Sericornis frontalis) is a passerine bird found in coastal areas of Australia.
thanks Daniele and Jeanette. I'll ask Kerry and David Baggallay for confirmation, as I spotted them in their garden, and he is into the local birds. But your ID looks good, Daniele.
I've made another suggestion for these cuties. There are quite a few variable races so have a look at a few pictures.
I agree Jeanette, and I was only half-convinced by my suggestion, but it the best match I could find :-( There are multiple sightings of a nearby South Asian race all around the Australian East coast. These may also be juveniles of another species, the plumage of which I can't recognize. Hopefully someone will have a more extensive bird guide or better knowledge .
They don't look like Grey Wagtails, Daniele... But I can't give any other suggestion, I don't know anything about australian birds :)
Pamsai, I am still looking at other IDs as this would be a rare sighting for Australia, although there are several reports. Someone else my have another suggestion:-)
