Yellow-Headed Caracara

Milvago chimachima

This yellow-headed caracara was about 40 cm long with a black streak behind the eye, cream chest and brown feathers on the wings.

Despite being a bird of savanna, swamps and forest edges, this caracara was spotted on a remote tropical island, eating coconut flesh.

Spotted on Kuanidup Island, San Blas Archipelago, Panama
