Purple-crested Turaco

Tauraco porphyreolophus

Description:

Purple-crested Turaco

Habitat:

Woodlands

Notes:

This bird was found in a heavy wooded area in the Serengeti reserve of Tanzania . They are extremely difficult to find and this was the only one sighted on our safari. He only allowed a few seconds to take this image. In my several trips to Africa I have only seen two of these birds.
