Snowy Waxcap

Hygrocybe virginea

Description:

Snowy waxcap is a tiny pure white mushroom (~3cm), which cap is originally convex and becomes depressed when expanding. The cap surface looks wet or waxy. The gills are decurrent. The stem is short, thin and white.

Habitat:

Boreal forest: growing on the ground, between the mosses and lichens.
