Pipilo maculatus
Robin-sized bird, black and white with rusty patches on flanks.
Habitually sifts through leaf litter along forest edges. Males call from exposed perches in treetops.
This individual was spotted near the nature center in Bear Creek Regional Park, Colorado Springs.

@bugeric, i know your primary interest is bugs, but you have a great bird collection (and believe me, i really appreciate that, i love birds ;). i think you are a swell bird-watcher ;-)
