Fiery-billed Aracari

Pteroglossus frantzii

Description:

While I was walking through a reserve down to a waterfall, several of these birds landed in a tree and started eating the fruit. No mistaking their arrival, they make quite a noise !

Notes:

The fiery-billed aracari or fiery-billed araçari (Pteroglossus frantzii) is a toucan, a near-passerine bird. It breeds only on the Pacific slopes of southern Costa Rica and western Panama.
