Golden eye lichen

Teloschistes chrysophthalmus

Description:

Bright orange lichen

Habitat:

Growing profusely on dead shrubs and live bursaria spinosa only. This grew together with a pale green species.

Notes:

The habitat was very dry with poor soil and porous rocky substrate. Many Acacia and Casuarina were sick and dying. Latest intel. notes that this species was recently spotted in Mexico. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/159...

A realy complex world,imagine me with no specific scientific formation,PN as beened a super lesson in all fields and you are one of our teacher's my friend,it's a plasear to follow your allways interesting info's and of course the super photos of the maybee most bizarre continent in what concern to wild life :)BTW i loved your photo with the rest of the australien gang,very cool :)

Thanks Antonio. I've started looking more closely at lichens and am a bit afraid to look too closely, as they are very complex.
The pale green one seems to be Ramalina celastri.
