Teloschistes chrysophthalmus
Bright orange lichen
Growing profusely on dead shrubs and live bursaria spinosa only. This grew together with a pale green species.
The habitat was very dry with poor soil and porous rocky substrate. Many Acacia and Casuarina were sick and dying. Latest intel. notes that this species was recently spotted in Mexico. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/159...

Thanks Antonio. I've started looking more closely at lichens and am a bit afraid to look too closely, as they are very complex.
The pale green one seems to be Ramalina celastri.
