Ant Mimicing... ?

Description:

This creature looks exactly like a large ant. It measured about 5/8" long. It has a probe similar to an assassin bug or leafhopper. I observed it putting the needle like probe into the shoots of the flowers to feed over the course of 4 or five days.

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest a little more than half way through the rainy season. This one was sighted on Ixora.
