Iotaphora iridicolor
Flat moth, relatively average size with different shades of yellow and blue colour combinations of wavy lines on its wings. Sharp light stripes across its body, which it keeps exposed from the dorsal aspect. The patterns on its wings very much natch those on the walls of the monastery! Wingspan: 65mm.
Wall of a monastery on the top of a hill, surrounded by forests.
Today we, the family went to the Enchey Monastery, a local Buddhist Chapel for special prayers on the Budda's enlightenment day. As usual, I kept surveying around with my curious eyes, and lo! There on the wall after one year spotted a similar beauty!

That is stunning! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks a lot RH!
Spectacular !
Thank you Leana. Yes, that posting was on Nov 2, 2014. They seem to hang around quite a lot. This is the same monastery (Buddhist Chapel, over 100 yr old), that was on the south side on a smaller structure and this one spotted on the west side of the main building. I'm very happy once again!
So nice! I remember this beauty from last year which earned you the SOTD, DrNamgyal.
Thanks LadyLilac, venusflytrap2000, JillBlack, Wandering Naturalist and Sergio for making it favourite!
