Cossid Moth -16

Trismelasmos sp.

Description:

This attractive Cossid moth would have been about 40 to 45 mm long. Has the distinct black upside down "V" pattern on the thorax seen in Endoxyla genus.

Habitat:

This moth was spotted by a friend in camping grounds. It had just emerged and was unfurling its wings.

Notes:

According to kallies this is Trismelasmos species a leopard moth from subfamily Zeuzerinae. This moth was photographed by Lt D Johnson (CFA)

Thank you Ornithoptera80. They do look very similar,don't they? I've had a look at E. interlucens and I believe there are some markings across the dorsum that I can't see on the specimen in my post.
As Mark says, we are waiting for feedback from moth experts here.....it could well be E.interlucens. Thanks again.
