Description:

These tiny weevils were abundant in almost all of these purple wildflowers. They are only 3 mm in length and stay mostly buried among the stamen of the flowers. Their bodies are black and covered with rows of white scales. Family Curculionidae.

Habitat:

Rancho Nuevo Park, 10 km east of San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
