Description:

A large bird that is easily recognized with its colorful eye patch and long tail feathers. This one was fun to watch as it pursued insect prey. Males and females have identical plumage.

Habitat:

Spotted at Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas. Mixed woods with open grass meadows and rocky outcrops (pic 5) nearby.
