Praying Mantis Nymph

Description:

Less than an inch long and very cute. I have found four or five nymphs in my garden, which I am excited about. There were four large adult praying mantises in the area last summer. The nymphs will turn their heads to look at you just like the adults, and are quick to jump from leaf to lead if disturbed.

Habitat:

Found in my small wildflower garden

Thank you, Forest Dragon! I have quite a few images of the adult praying mantises I found in my garden last summer. Perhaps we can be a bit more certain of this little guy's ID once I identify the adults.

Nice find! This is most likely a Chinese Mantis nymph, Tenodera sinensis. http://bugguide.net/node/view/12409
