Multicolored Asian Ladybeetle (larva)

Harmonia axyridis

Description:

Late larval stage

Habitat:

I have a young cherry tree that is infested with black aphids...well, it was until the ladybug larvae showed up. This is just one of the many found in the same location. They made quick work of the aphids.

Notes:

I am assuming that this is a multicolored Asian ladybeetle because I rarely encounter anything else. I raised some larvae last year, and boy are they vicious. The moment the aphid supply ran out they would begin to attack one another.
