Vermillion Waxhead

Hygrocybe sp

Description:

2cm hood. dry for the first twelve hours and then slimy the next day.

Habitat:

Heavily disturbed lawn stubble with gravel over sandy loam. Plenty of plant material and humus. Salt-laden winds, coastal dunes nearby

Notes:

A single example of this grew up about a month before another mass spotting. Thanks to gully.moy for the identification. Changed the identification. Roundheads have white stems. I think this is a Waxhead or something from that genus

Gully Moy I am not sure about that id. The stems and gills on these are orange and the ones on the examples are white
