Downlooker Snipefly

R⁠hagio scolopaceus

Description:

The fly probably got the name because it snatch prey that flies past the lookout post. The color of the abdomen are yellow or orange, with dark, almost black spots. The sides of the thorax are grey and the wings have several darkened marks. The lenght is around 15mm.

Habitat:

In the garden near forest edge.
