Furnarius rufus
Or this specimen was picking up mud to the nest, or, feeding of termites.
Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia. South, Southeast and Center-West regions of Brazil. Fields, savannahs, pastures, roadsides and in gardens. Walk along the ground in search of insects, often resting on poles, fences, and other branches isolated points that allow a good view of the surroundings.
It is known for its characteristic nest-shaped clay oven (feature shared with many species of this family). Is the bird symbol of Argentina, where it is called "Hornero". As the Rufous Hornero spends much of his time on earth or clay, its penagem is brown to blend with the soil.
