California Quail

Callipepla californica

Description:

A very plump breasted bird.The male has a small feather protruding from the top of his head. His plumage is brown,white, and a small amount of yellow on his chest and under his tail. He has a black face with a white band around the bottom and up the sides of it and a another white band around the sides of his eyes. His legs are a grey color.

Habitat:

Hot climate.Fruit orchards. They are usually in the garden or under the hedge or in the bushes and shrubs around the house.

Notes:

I usually see Quails everyday in the Spring and Summer and once in awhile in Winter, when it's warm outside. There always around the yard somewhere or sitting on the tele wires.
