Fly Planthopper

Description:

An uncommon species of planthopper (bug) that resembles a large fly. For years I have been thinking that this is a fly but now I know better that this species is somewhere around Cixiidae. Maybe Kinnaridae? This insect may be trying to mimic a species of Scholastes fly which is common there.

Habitat:

Plants in Tawau Hill Parks, Sabah, Malaysia.

Notes:

Happy New Year to all Project Noah members. I had already finished uploading all my Maliau Basin spottings and currently I am uploading spottings from Tawau Hill Park 3 years ago. >>>Map accuracy : 30m diameter.

Hi Cindy, this and other recent spottings are not from my Maliau Basin trip anymore. My last spotting from Maliau Basin is a lovely moth here
