Description:

Small finch sized bird, brown on top and light grey on the bottom with males having a black face-mask and females without it.

Habitat:

Near the thermal pits of Rotorua in a Maori village. Lived in groups of around 10 individuals together

The ones with the black "chins" are males, and the more plain looking ones are the females
