Eastern Redfooted Kestral

Falco amurensis

Description:

The Eastern Redfooted Kestral males are easy to identify due to their distinct black & white under wing, they are known to be gregarious by nature.

Habitat:

Fallow field, hawking for insects - probably emerging flying ants

Notes:

It was towards dusk and I was driving by, I could pick out the E. Redfooted Kestrals but there may be other kestrals up there. The birds were catching their prey with their feet and then passing it to their mouths.
