Pacific Tree Frog

Pseudacris regilla

Description:

little reddish frog

Habitat:

suburban fern garden on north side of house, near vernal pool

Notes:

There are a great number of little frogs here around our vernal pool. I don't normally see them as red. This one is red though. There are so many frogs out in the vernal pool that at night it is too loud to talk over.

Hi Annette. I think this frog is one of the color variations of the pacific tree frog. I think most are green, but there are brown and other variations. The wikipedia link in the Suggest ID has more info on color morphs for this species.
