Sulawesi Batocera Longhorn

Batocera celebiana

Description:

About 6cm large (body), brown with white and red marks and white line at body.

Habitat:

Spotted at Ke'te' Kesu' - Central Sulawesi in a large tree together with almost 3 other specimens.

Notes:

This Longhorn Beetle was in a living large tree used by Toraja people as a graveyard for human babies, where the bodies are buried on the holes of the tree. Initially I refrained myself to take pics of the tree as a sign of respect but when I saw the Beetles I managed to take some pics of them isolated.
