Mantis Lacewing

Mantispidae

Description:

It looks like a medium sized lacewing with mantis fore-arms

Habitat:

Found among low hanging eucalyptus branches in a coastal area

Notes:

No notes. This is the only one I have ever seen. Just a fluke spotting. I may be giving up too easy but so far there is only one I can find on Google that has similar markings and it is not identified. Thanks Argy Bee and martini for your assistance in identifying this as far as we got. Also mantis fly, mantis fly, mantispid and so on.

mantis lacewing, a superb and uncommon spotting. However, yours seems to be a different species to mine

Great find Stephen. I've been hoping to see one of these myself but no luck yet.
