Grey Heron

Ardea cinerea

Description:

This fellow stayed around for about 10 minutes while swallowing a big fish before he took off. Grey herons are commonly spotted in urban environments.

Notes:

Though widely distributed, the range of this species seems to be just north of Qatar (and in addition southern Europe, Africa and south-east Asia) where it migrates to during the winter seasons.
