Green Tree Frog

Litoria caerulea

Description:

Usually bright green, however depending on the mood of the frog it may change to a dark green. In adult stage the females can grow up to 12cm in length. The males are much smaller and less robust than the females. Is found in eastern and northern parts of Australia. Prefers places that are cool and damp, particularly in more arid areas. Very common for these fellows to use human habitation for shelter a.k.a toilet bowls! The green tree frog will reproduce in the summer and wet season.

Eastern and Northern parts of Australia. Preferably cool, damp places particularly in arid areas.

This species is known as the green tree frog in Australia. "Dumpy tree frog" is most likely an American pet store name for the species.

Incredible looking frog. Love the color and his animated face. Might even give it a kiss. HA! I know there is a prince in there somewhere.
