Euchloe crameri
Butterfly in the Pieridae family. Anterior and posterior wings of pearly white on his anverse, with a black apex mottled in white. The forewings reverse is very similar, although the apex stain is greenish. The hindwings reverse is dominated by the greenish color with white spots. The female is larger, with a more greenish color, result of the superposition of black and yellow scales. It reproduces twice a year, with the first egglaying in February, and the second between April and may. The egg laying is carried out on shoots of different plants, a single egg. The caterpillar only eats leaves, making the chrysalis phase very quickly. Not all pupae develop into adult individuals, as part of them hibernate, remaining in that state, sometimes up to several years; for this reason, the second generation is always partial.
