Diderick Cuckoo juvenile

Description:

juvenile Diderick cuckoo, rufous and green with a diagnostic red bill. Much larger than the foster parents - Marico Sunbird

Habitat:

well wooded large garden in semi arid tree savannah

Notes:

The primary hosts for the Diderick Cuckoo are weaver birds whereas the Klaas's Cuckoo is known to parasitize Sunbird nests. This youngster is definitely a Diderick because of the red bill.
