Common Flat Lizard

Platysaurus intermedius rhodesianus

Description:

Astoundingly colourful flat lizard, very numerous and quite docile in company of humans - not quite enough to be petted but certainly to be closely observed.

Habitat:

Large rocky outcrops of Matopos National Park, especially near Cecil Rhode's gravesite.

Notes:

This one seems to have a damaged or deformed tail?

Wonderful and amazing color! This lizard probably dropped his tail some time in the past to avoid being eaten by a predator. He has regrown his tail. They never look quite the same after regrowth but it is a good way to survive!
