Description:

Meryta sinclairii (Puka, Pukanui) is a native tree that has large leathery leaves about 30cm long. Endemic to three kings and Hen and Chicken Islands but common in North Island gardens since its a very popular ornamental garden plant. Spotted at Waimangu volcanic valley visitor centre yard.
