Crested Pigeon

Ocyphaps lophotes

Notes:

The Crested Pigeon is one of only two Australian pigeons that possess an erect crest. These native pigeons are so common I don't think I've ever bothered to take a photo of one before! I'm glad I did though - these shots show their remarkably-coloured eyes and beautiful shiny green wing tips. I will take a closer look next time I see one of these. : )

Thanks for sharing ShannaB, although they are common and you might take them for granted in your part of the world. I can say that I have never seen a crested pigeon before in my part of the world. Good, or Great photos of ordinary wildlife in your part of the world is or can be a blessing to others who may never see in person the things you take for granted. Keep up the good work.
