Dasypus novemcinctus
They have a gray shell that covers the body, with a similarly colored head and tail.
Found throughout North, Central, and South America, they are the most widespread of the armadillo species.
I had a 400 mm lens on my camera, and when I spotted this guy I was too close to get a full body shot, and every time I tried to back up so I could get his whole body, he would just come closer. Was incredibly annoying! Seen in Buffalo Lake Wildlife Refuge.
