Fulica atra
38 cm lenght. Acuatic bird, black coloured. White bill. Green legs.
I found this bird in the River Segura in its pass through the City of Murcia. I found them on the water and in the middle of river vegetacion. The live in the water, prefering deep waters. They go back to riversides to feed.
Hey! Than you for the comments. It was a mistake. I have two birds books and i got confused with scientific names.
In addition to what Daniele has told you, Fulica cristata has 2 red knobs on top of the head which are visible at all times, larger in breeding birds.
Also why have you given this bird a Spanish name and placed it in a Spanish mission when the map shows it in Croatia?
Hi MarcoAntonio! "Focha común" is Fulica atra, the Eurasian Coot. In Fulica cristata the black feathering in front of the eye is rounded (not pointed as here), and the back is flat rather than rounded.
