Viola canadensis
This leafy-stemmed white-flowered violet may attain a height of 18-20 inches. The leaves are oval or heart shaped with pointed tips and toothed margins. There is usually a tinge of bluish or violet on the back of the upper petals.
Rich woods and high altitudes.

This was taken in Vermont (US) near the Canadian boarder. We have a camp on Great Lake Averill. The land is different from my home which is in central VT.
