Spizella arboria
A moderate Spizella sparrow with a conical, bi-colored bill. The gray face has a rufous crown and thin rufous eyestripe. The breast is a clean gray, usually with a dark breast spot. The flanks are buffy. The wings have two white wingbars; the back is brown with darker streaks.
In winter, prefers thickets in forests or hedgerows.
