This common beetle has been absent for the last rainless month. Yesterday was raining and today there are eggs everywhere.

Usually in summertime they can have two generations but I do think they will hide away if it is too wet or too cold or too dry

Sounds like they have a seasonal plan, kind of like Rain Lilies that will not bloom without real rain!
