Spotting

Description:

Found this in the japanese maple out front while I was trimming it. I was surprised at the strength of the outer cocoon. I am chef so you know I keep my knives sharp, and I had difficulty cutting through, was more like ripping. The inner cocoon, shown in pic 2&3, was very hard almost like wood.

Habitat:

Urban
