Spotted Salamander

Ambystoma maculatum

Description:

Stout mole salamander usually ranging 15-25 cm in length. Like most mole salamanders they have a wide snout.

Habitat:

Mixed woodlands with slow moving waters, swamps, or vernal pools. Adults usually found in damp areas under logs.
