Epidalea calamita
The Natterjack Toad (on the right) is a small toad that live in sandy microhabitats in Europe. Its name in Portuguese translates as "Runner toad" since they usually don't stand still and mainly because, unlike other toads, it can't leap as way of locomotion, running instead. Here it stood side to side with another common european amphibian, the European treefrog (Hyla arborea)
