Fruiting bodies were 1-3 cm wide with a hairy, white upper surface and gill-like folds on the under surface.
Gregariously clustered on dead wood in a deciduous forest.
Although it is considered inedible in the United States and Europe, this species is widely consumed in other parts of the world. Also, it may have immunomodulatory, antifungal, and antiviral properties.
