Melanitis leda leda
Melanitis leda, the Common Evening Brown, is a common species of butterfly found flying at dusk and can be seen flying during the evening before complete darkness. In the day time they rest on the ground amongst dry leaves and can hardly be seen unless disturbed. They are active in the evening. The flight of this species is erratic, flying with a rapid and powerful flight less than a meter above ground.
They are found in Africa, South Asia and South-east Asia extending to parts of Australia, on the ground amongst dry leaves.
