Spotting

Description:

Waxy new growth with matte veined established leaves. Bark was smooth. Established leaves are maybe 2.5in long by 1in wide

Habitat:

Cataula Ga

Notes:

Our backyard was wiped out by the May 3 tornado. I'm trying to identify new growth as it becomes established to foster native plants and prevent invasive plants from taking over. I know these are young; however, any help ID'ing is much appreciated
