Thanks for the info! I knew when I spotted it that it was a morel and believed it to be edible but I was unsure whether to call it a "white morel" or a "yellow morel" at the time... it seems the verdict is yellow.

I wouldn't eat it until I was 100% sure. These morels grew strong in the area, around lake vesuvius. I found many but usually in singles, quite spread out.

BTW---- never EVER EVER eat a wild mushroom until you are 500% certain of what it is!!!!!!!!!! It only takes one mistake- you'll never have a chance to make a second mistake .

Oooooh.... Remember where you found this! True morels are delicacies ! I've never eaten one, but my friend has a patch in her woods. (she won't tell me where they are, the little sneak! ) ;)
